PhotoMonth 2026 Open Call: Unity and Community

PhotoMonth will return in October 2026 with another open call exhibition as the heart of the Festival at The Art Pavilion, Mild End Park.

The theme of the open call is Unity and Community. We encourage artists to draw inspiration from their own lived experiences or observations, living amidst drastic regression toward division and discrimination.

One of London’s strengths as a city renowned for its arts and culture is the cultivation and preservation of community. Given that PhotoMonth was founded with the belief that photography is for all, we aim to uphold these values and represent diverse communities and perspectives, reflective of the divergent and diverse cultures, practices, and people that make up the city.

We welcome submissions from all artists using photography as a part of their practice, regardless of age or career level. This opportunity is open to all photographers and artists working with any photographic styles and mediums. We encourage the use of experimental forms of expanded photography!

The exhibition will take place at the Art Pavilion at Mild End Park from Thursday 15th October 15th – Sunday 25th October, with an opening celebration on the evening of Wednesday 14th October.

Unity and Community will be curated by Cherelle Sappleton, Tom Hunter, Ishy Pryce-Parchment, and Leah Mclaine. This Curatorial Board represents a broad range of practices, career levels, and communities within and outside of London.
